THTHE PURPOSE OF THE "GANAGOBIE MOUSEBIRD" DESIGN IS TO SHOW THAT WE CAN BUILD A WOOD AIRFRAME WITH LESS OF 2% METAL PARTS WITH THE OLD AIRCRAFT WOOD TECHNOLOGY FORGOTTEN TODAY.
EXAMPLE: THE FRAMES CABANE IS MADE OF LAMINATE WOOD AND  PLYWOOD. LAMINATE GUSSETS MADE OF 1MM PLYWOOD. SIMPLE FLAT 3140 STEEL BOLTED ON FRAMES FOR THE FIXATION OF THE WING AND WING STRUTS.

THE ENGINE MOUNTING IS MADE OF 3140 STEEL, NO WELDIND, FIXED WITH 5 BOLTS ON THE FIREWALL LIKE THE jODEL.

THE LANDING GEAR IS CONVENTIONAL, ALUMINIUM FIXED WITH 4 BOLTS.

THAT IS IT, NO WELDING.

THE PROTOTYPE HAS ABOUT 200 HOURS SO FAR, empty weight 253.5kg (558.8lb) GROSS WEIGHT 357.9KG (789LB) WITH 40 LITRES OF FUEL, AND A PILOT 74 KG (163lb)-engine 1600 cc VW. 65HP.
BIRCH PLYWOOD 1MM-1.5MM and 2MM, WESTERN HEMLOCK WOOD.
